A start-up from Mendoza created an app to manage blood: how information can save lives?

This is Arción, a company that developed an application that includes all the information on hemotherapy centers in the country, stock control, expiration calendars and traceability, so that patients receive the care they need in the most efficient way. How does it work?

Having to find blood donors for a sick family member, someone who needs to be operated on or finding themselves in the painful situation of replenishing the units that were used during an emergency, are more frequent situations than anyone can imagine, and on the basis of Those real needs led to the birth of Arción, "the first blood availability app".

They define themselves as "a young company, from Mendoza, specialized in Information Technology", but it is not just any startup, but rather they seek to contribute "a grain of sand" to solving daily needs, especially in the field of health.

Specifically, the company created an application suitable for installation on mobile devices (Andoid and IOS), which includes a georeferencing map with all the hemotherapy centers in the country, thus creating a federal network with all the information on blood components.

Information can save lives

The application allows you to make consultations and verify the availability of blood, so it can become the main ally of any hemotherapy center and, of course, attend efficiently and above all, quickly, to patients who need hemocomponents (blood and their derivatives, such as red blood cells and platelets).

By adding all the hemotherapy centers, a true synergy is guaranteed, that is, in addition to the location, each center can have a unit control available, know the state of the blood banks in each corner of the country, and from from there, focus on the communication campaigns necessary to maintain their stocks at the appropriate levels.

Likewise, among the applications of Arción's multiplatform, the possibility of controlling the transfer of units (traceability) and having an "expiration calendar" are added, both key factors in the care of each patient.

How does it work?

• Arción was designed as a multi-platform for quick access to information.
• Guarantees safe availability when and where it is needed.
• Helps to optimize processes that today are carried out manually.
• Allows blood therapy centers to share information in the most efficient way.
"Our solution seeks to add value to the health system specifically in the field of hemotherapy, thus allowing to optimize and automate processes that are currently carried out manually and thus minimize operating times, transforming them into added value for patient care," they add.

Grow to bring relief

Since its creation, Arción has been disseminating the benefits of having an innovative system for blood management, and in this way they seek to add hemotherapy centers and clinics to their platform.
To do this, they have free trial periods that can easily be converted into a subscription if the entities are satisfied with the product.

Although it is a company, from Eisplus they point out that "Arcion was born out of a real need", and that is why the first aim is to help others, especially in the most difficult moments.
